Like in most of flavored teas, the most important things in All About Christmas black flavored tea are scent, flavor and creating the perfect mood. I have to admit that I am quite surprised with Christmas teas assortment of The Tea House. It’s a pleasure to look at. Most of you frequent readers might think that something strange is going on on Tea Chronicles. Maybe I have been reviewing so many flavored teas lately, but you have to understand that even I cannot the Grinch all the time. I do prefer pure teas, and I think there is nothing more beautiful and pleasurable than drinking pure and unique tea that completely takes you over with intense natural flavors and scents.
This tea is a blend of black tea, apple pieces, coriander, cardamon, pink pepper, and orange pieces. Scent is, of course, heavenly and christmassy, no I do have to remind you that this is a cheap and average quality tea that should be evaluated as such, in its own category. Price is 5 GBP for 100 grams. What especially pleases me are the names of teas from this collection – they match scents perfectly and invite you to try them. This teas should definitely not be underestimated, as their main purpose is to make you happy and to create the right mood. This is not the superb quality tea, rather superbly designed fine and tasty christmassy delight.
Brewing
Brewing is really simple. Use two teaspoons of tea and steep in 200 ml of freshly boiled water for five minutes. This tea can even be re-steeped, but the result will be much weaker. Scent is the most beautiful feature of All About Christmas black flavored tea. Dominating citrusy notes with hints of apple and spices finely blended in the background. Black tea makes only 47% of this blend, which is more than evident and influences the flavor a lot.
All About Christmas black flavored tea has a very delicate and light flavor. It has that light background astringency of Darjeeling tea. Scent of liquor is very true to the scent of dry leaves. It is full and warm. Spice notes are intensified right after drinking. This is a very interesting blend perfect for Christmas time. If you look at it from that perspective, is surely deserves a high rating.
